Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect in a consultation with Monique?

Great question. This is your opportunity to express what you are looking for in therapy (individual, couples, or family) and what will be important to you in our working relationship. I will also provide some background information about the therapy process and how I can support you to meet your specific needs. The consultation provides you with a taste of how it will be and determine if we are a fit/good match for therapy.

How much are your session fees?

Session fees vary based on length of session and type between individual and couples/family therapy.

My fee range is $200 to $250 USD per session.

I am happy to share that I currently have sliding scale spots.

We will discuss session fees and/or sliding scale during your 15 minute free consult call.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept credit and debit card ACH payments, electronic bank transfers (zelle), cash, and checks in USD for sessions.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I accept select insurances through headway.co

I am multi-licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Most Commercial Insurances Accepted: Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, etc

If you have an insurance that I do not accept (verify via headway.co), you may explore out of network benefits. As an out-of-network provider, you may have out-of-network benefits and your insurance company may possibly reimburse you for a portion of your therapy treatment; however, your full session fee is due at the time of each appointment.

Cancellation Policy

24 hours' notice for cancellations and rescheduling is required.

I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. If you anticipate being unable to attend, please notify me by email as soon as possible. Cancellations made in line with the policy do not incur a charge.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, including same-day cancellations or no-shows, will incur the standard $200 USD cancellation fee.
If we’ve agreed on a one-time courtesy reschedule (schedule permitting) without charge, and the rescheduled session is then cancelled, the $200 cancellation fee will apply to the second missed session.

For emergencies or extenuating circumstances in which 24 hours’ notice was not or could not be provided, please reach out (email, phone, and text as last resort) so we can discuss and confirm an arrangement specific to your situation as soon as possible.

Your card/payment method will be charged unless another arrangement has been discussed and confirmed with therapist.
